In Class 17, we looked at Operation Doppelgänger, an ongoing Russian influence operation that uses spoofed web sites designed to look like legitimate news outlets to trick people into thinking they are reading reliable information. In relation to that case, the FBI recently released a number of documents outlining how the Kremlin hired Russian PR agencies to build and execute influence operations on its behalf. Today, we’ll look closer at one of those campaigns: Project Good Old USA.
